A Letter to Guests from Hu's Father,

Hello. Thank you for visiting Hugo K. Sanz's website. This website was created for the purpose of directing Hugo's talents to a positive end. The goal is to establish a platform for Hugo to develop not only a portfolio of work, but a livelihood for his future, since currently the idea of the future in a professional, or working sense, is somewhat dubious being that he is academically lagging behind his cohorts because of a disability which struck him severely for about two years in his early childhood.

Hugo is a very imaginative boy. He is always trying to figure out ways in which he can produce something of great value that people may be able to enjoy and want to acquire. In his own words he is "going to be a rich man."

As his father, I am surprised by his drive not because of his learning disability, but because young children never seem to have such clear objectives in life. I know I was a slow-starter. I also know people that while being over forty years of age, they still haven't "started." Hugo knows what he wants and I am only happy to help him channel his talents toward the fulfillment of his dreams.

Hugo's ultimate goal is to become a video game developer. He always asks what requirements there are in that field. Being that he is a natural artist I only tell him that the first thing to do is to keep developing his skills in painting and sketching; that and the continued effort overcoming his barriers in traditional school settings.

Hugo made his first drawing at age 4, only a few weeks before he had his first epileptic seizure. I believe both events were life-changing not only for him, but for me as his father concerned about his life as an adult. The drawing was an epic tale of what seems to be alien beings and ghost-like entities in an apparent battle in the sky.

The drawing was done on a strand of toilet paper about 19 inches long, which he himself took from the restroom after having acquired some crayons without any prompting. Upon seeing his creation, which he accomplished without any formal or informal training, I knew that he possessed some special natural ability. He is yet to attain any formal training or instruction in the arts.

Most of Hugo's paintings contain his "signature" or trademark "Hu". This was something that I encouraged him to develop since most artists brand their pieces with their trademark signature. Hugo himself came up with the idea of using the first two letters of his first name.

More than it being for creative purposes, I think choosing "Hu" may have been a practical decision on his part in an effort to reduce his workload, because I approached him about it after a painting session and he was tired.

I hope that you enjoy some of the work on display here and that you can accompany "Hu" as he develops as an artist and as a young person. Thank you for visiting his website. We hope that you are able to acquire one of Hu's works of art at some point.

On behalf Hugo K. Sanz,

Thank you. And God bless you and your family.

Sincerely,

Hugo's Father.

P.s. I chose to remain anonymous here only because I do not wish to interfere in Hugo's story, which he will tell to the world on his own terms and through his own artistic creations.
